FAQs
How much do you charge?
My standard rates are $60/hour for virtual tutoring, $75/hour for in-person, and $100/hour for SAT/ACT test prep. Please note that due to COVID-19, all in-person sessions will be held with masks on. The minimum session length is 1 hour.
What makes Sarah Loves Numbers stand out from other tutoring services?
There are a variety of ways that my services stand out; I work to alter my teaching style to match up with how my student best learns. I am willing to go the extra mile and do whatever it takes to help a student succeed, including making myself available to students via text/email for quick questions in between appointments.
Additionally, I truly love math and statistics! I’ve always loved numbers, and enjoy teaching just as much; I am very passionate about what I do, and I aim to foster the same love for math and stats among all my students. Further, since Sarah Loves Tutoring is a self-run business, you will not be required to pay additional fees for tutoring services like you may with many other companies in the LA area.
How do I schedule an appointment?
There are a couple of ways to schedule a session; you can use the contact me button on the site to send an inquiry, or you could email me directly. My email is sarahlovesnumbers@gmail.com. Inquiries will be responded to within one to two business days.
Can I schedule a last-minute session?
Yes! As long as my schedule allows for it, I am always happy to take day-of sessions. You can email or text me directly for such cases.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
Not a concern, sometimes life happens! Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance of the session have no penalty, and will not be charged. If a session is canceled within 24 hours of our scheduled meet time, I charge half of the session cost. In the case of a family emergency, accident, etc. the cancellation charge may be waived at Sarah’s discretion.
What types of students have/do you work with?
I work with students of all ages and skill levels, as well as students with learning disabilities/difficulties. I've tutored students in subjects ranging from elementary school math to adults going back to school in college-level math and statistics courses. I am very patient and able to re-explain concepts as many times as is necessary for my students to grasp the material. In the past, I have worked with students with ADD/ADHD, autism, and dysgraphia.
Will you meet me at my house?
I do not travel to meet with clients. In-person tutoring sessions will be held at coffee shops, parks, etc. in the general Hollywood area. If due to extenuating circumstances you are unable to travel, and would not like virtual tutoring, you may message me and we can see if we can work something out. Please know that I will not travel far, and would require additional monetary compensation.
